So you bought a candle in a beautiful jar - maybe it’s one of our 100% soy wax candles that come in either black or white jars. In our case, the jars are something I source carefully, and these glass jars are made by a supplier here in the USA. In any case, you love the idea of repurposing that jar for your makeup brushes...but how to do it the EASY way?
One thing that’s important to me, and thus Aromasoy, is to be more green and eco-friendly. I love the idea that even when one of our candles is burned out, the jar will live on in the person’s house and bring some use! We keep our style sleek and stylish, and they mesh with any decor.
A lot of people seem to be intimidated at the idea of reusing their candle jars - how to get the wax out? How to get off those labels that never seem to quite come off?
Worry no more! Follow these 5 Simple Steps and you’re on your way to having a pretty new glass container in the house!
STEP 1: Put the jar in a freezer for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 2: Using a butter knife, carefully break up the wax at the bottom of the jar. You only need to press the knife a few times, and the wax should break off easily.
STEP 3: Using a hairdryer (or a heat gun), heat up the main label for about 1 minute and carefully peel it off. Let cool for a few seconds before peeling.
STEP 4: Place the jar in hot, soapy water for about 15 minutes.
STEP 5: Wash, dry, and enjoy!
That's it! You've got yourself a brand new jar, that can be reused for SO many things!
10oz jar - makeup brush holder, pencil holder, planter for succulents, qtip storage, hair tie storage
4oz jar - store dry spices, coconut oil (use as makeup remover), snacks, yogurt, paperclips, the list goes on and on!
